It's ridiculous to compare one young child to a group including teens. A 16 year old should not need the same amount of guidance as a 6 year old, nor should they have the same knowledge level of sex and anatomy. A six year old probably shouldn't answer the door on their own, but a 16 year old probably should be able to assess if a person seems like a legit worker who might save them from a gas leak, which is a hazard. I would not expect a 6 year old to be able to earn money without some assistance, but a 16 year old should have some ideas on how to hustle. So little has to do with the parenting style but on the age and number of children. They comment on how the big families work more together which the only kids were not able to demonstrate, which has nothing to do with being strict or free range so much as having a lot of kids versus investing in one. I had hoped to learn from this, but it is a reality show so I should have known better.
