I came into this thinking I knew everything from Charlie's review and Terrible TV Shows and Episodes Wiki. In short, its nineteen-minute run time taught me how little I actually knew, as this OVA was somehow leagues worse than what I was led to believe.
The blurry animation really roped me in. I already knew that I was going to watch it ironically when I clicked on it, but the animation was so abysmal that it made the experience all the more enjoyable. Let's also not forget the fight scenes, which turned out to be somehow even more boring than I previously thought. The voice acting was all so awful, to the point that they sounded like little kids screaming. Let's also not forget the scene where they take the green-haired girl (who was never even named) to the hospital in order to regenerate her head, as why else would they take someone to a hospital after their head was obliterated? The scenes skipped around so much with no transitions whatsoever, and I agree with the editors that scene transitions are overrated.
Oh, I can't forget the soundtrack. It was so good that they managed to bring Bach, Beethoven, Rossini, Chopin, Wagner, and Satie back from the dead to compose the score. I personally love it when "The Barber of Seville" plays during the final fight, even though the theme is from a comedic opera from 1816. Satie's "Gymnopedie No. 1" could not have felt more out of place, and neither could Bach's "Prelude in C Major." And let's not forget the other legendary battle themes of Chopin's "Fantaisie Impromptu," Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries," and the first movement of Beethoven's "Piano Sonata No. 14"/"Moonlight Sonata." In all seriousness, the soundtrack is terrible and consists entirely of public domain classical music.
Overall, it gets an easy 1/10, as it is perhaps the worst anime one could ever watch. Fortunately, it was just this OVA. Imagine if you had to watch a full series.
