Laura Marcus's on person guide to comedy, in the form of a short film about a girl who decides that she will binge drink. Now found on vinemo, Marcus's piece explores the complexities of modern life as a teenage geek, having conversations around alcohol, make up and self perception, as well as mental health and pressure. She uses make up to play all those in the piece just as she did in her other short film(laugh lessons bbc v plates) drawing on stereotypes and working with her highly expressive and physical style to enhance her comedy. Her unique style showing off the emotions of all those she plays. The lighting and filming is exquisite and the realism in the ucas and application process made the piece wonderful as a British teen. Its very worth watching.
