I watched this episode and I wondered if there was any real relevance to bring out Helen Sharpe character's name once again, just to discredit her in Max's memory. This time as a doctor. Although we know what she did and why. She always stood up for diversity. They felt, that Max and Wilder need to consider her as being unethical, even if she had several really massive reasons to do it. But again, that was not her as she was portrayed before. I would genuinely want to find some real reasons for this, but I cannot. I'm in denial, that the writers would do this out of personal reasons against the actress or the relevance of her character. I just cannot believe. But nobody would ask that and probably we'll never get a honest answer.
