A body of a journalist who does investigations is found at the bottom of an air shaft beneath the streets of Washington, D. C. Upon investigation, it seems that there is an entire subculture down there, and a man, in particular, who is the alpha male. He is looked up to by everyone, but also could be seen as a suspect. What is interesting is that this under the city place is like a labyrinth and has secrets dating back to the Civil War. Booth has the issue of showing respect for people who live here and fulfilling his position in the FBI. Bones once again shows her ignorance of modern cultural icons. She has see "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre," but doesn't know anything about "Clue," the board game.
