James Gunn knows how to handle actual comedy and story telling in one story. This is a story for a Z list character that no one knew that they wanted but im certainly looking forward to the new series if this continues under the direction of Gunn. This was grounded with being exciting, hilarious with being heartfelt and to top it off if this continues there maybe hope for DC going forward
The whole production of the series was spot on, CGI budget was obviously far less than some other shows but no issues with the interaction between the real life and all the other aspects of the show. There have been far to many shows not handling these stories well but this is just perfectly done from losing family, aliens and a racist father training a hitman son. At the end of the series im waiting for the story to go to the next level but still being as grounded as the stories can be.
Overall i think that the DCU is in safe hands going forward but still is the craziest decision to remove henry cavil as Superman. Just dont see the point of him return and then not, hes been messed around far to much so i can certainly see why he cant return ever now.
