King Kong Kamp
4 December 2022
I finally saw this movie recently after probably last seeing it as a kid. I know over the last few years I've come across a lot of music that was inspired by this movie, like Jimmy Castors 'King Kong' and Love Unlimited Orchestra's dance cover of 'Theme From King Kong', so this movie did seem to catch the eye of pop culture back in the day.

Well, this movie is about as camp as camp can be. With dialogue referencing 'Deep Throat' and a 'Man in a Monkey Suit' you know this isn't going to be serious endeavor.

Charles Grodin was interesting to watch. I had to look it up just to confirm it was him. He wasn't doing his trademark shtick, which he had a distinctive way of speaking for many years.

Jessica Lange is pretty, but a complete airhead in this film. Jeff Bridges is trying to play it as serious as possible.

Worth a watch if there's nothing else on, and you're curious about this forgotten remake that happened between the original and the Peter Jackson version.
