Shining like Diamonds, Not Glass

This was unexpectedly fabulous. Both leads were wonderful actors and stunning to boot. From a cinematography standpoint, it was top notch as well. The secondary characters added and didn't detract from the story.

But what clearly was the stunner here, was the moral behind the story. Addressing the subject of women being treated fairly in the workplace, biases against them, and treating one another with respect was what made this dizi a stand out. Yes, it had a few clichés, (lost in the forest, a fall into the arms of the male lead, a fainting spell) but they are totally forgivable. For the first time, a male lead didn't grab the girl by the arm and force her to go...or stay...or whatever. This protagonist was actually a decent, honest, thoughtful and empathetic young man. There is a lot of praise for the female lead (and it is well deserved) but I also want to remark that the male lead was a wonderful example of how a true gentleman should behave. I also am glad that it didn't go to the other extreme of what seems to be a new trend, male bashing. Good balance. I just loved this show. Bravo to the team.
