Warning: Spoilers
This is not one of the better episodes but it has it's moments. Murray's friend win a Pulitzer Prize something Murray aspired to. Depression sets in and Murray doesn't come to work . Lou has to write the copy for Ted . Lou also has Mary call Marie Murray's wife Marie without revealing that they are worried about Murray. Murray returns he' been at the movies. Lou looks like he will get angry but instead tries to be understanding. Murray's life didn't go as planned. Lou talks about his great dream not coming true and everyone has them. Mary tries to be uplifting too to no avail.

Ted even does his part he even jas a hand puppet! Murray and Mary at Ted's apartment ( Mary tells Ted his apartment is so him! ) . She then tells Murray they shouldn't try to cheer him up if he feels down he shouldn't try to suppress it. A very valid point.

As pointed out Murray is just not that interesting minus the barbs and being too downbeat. He's really about the last character on the show that should have an episode centered on him. It works for Mary, Rhoda, Lou, Phyllis, even Sue Ann and Ted not so much Murray . I think it's because he's the only one that usually with one or two exceptions becomes less funny.
