The overall story is believable and disturbing. I don't want to spoil anything, but if you listen to his story when he explains why he has become such a monster, Jesus Christ. There are many incredible, disturbing scenes. For example, in one scene, she is "allowed" to cut off pieces from a fresh, dead body, for their food. (!) The body of a man she was forced to allure into a doorway at night on the day before, pretending that she needed help. Then that helping guy was killed from behind by that psychopath. That "you can cut" scene and many others are fantastic acting, that woman is so scared that watching it makes viewers with empathy feel scared as well.
