If you watch episodic cop shows of the 1970s and 1980s. The staple was the payroll robbery. Even common in film noir thrillers of the 1940 and 50s.

Where would a heist film be without a good payroll snatch.

Nowadays it has fallen out of fashion due to internet banking. There is no physical money being delivered from banks to a factory. It is transferred direct to your bank account.

Aldhani leads to a main plot point. The mysterious Luthen wanted Andor for a mission. Steal the payroll of the entire Imperial sector which could stir rebellion.

So despite characters talking about credits. Somewhere far far away, the Empire uses physical money to pay the staff!

Some of the other stuff took a backseat. Karn and corporate soldiers were admonished and sacked.

It brings in characters like Major Partagaz who oozes calm venom. He is certainly no bureaucrat.

There was no going away with it. There are issues with the writing in Andor. I just could not buy the heist story.

Then it becomes dull as the others in the gang do not want the new boy Andor. All very underwhelming.
