Yakuzas Cannot Retire
24 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Tetsu is an enforcer for an old Japanese yakuza who decides to retire and disband his gang. But a rival gangster decides to take the retiree's place and assassinate Tetsu, who flees and has to keep running from numerous assassination attempts.

The movie is highly stylized, and the violence almost comical. But the movie does not have a Hollywood ending. All the running has taken its toll on Tetsu, and even when he gets rid of his enemies and has a girl who wants to be with him, he refuses because he has lost trust in anybody. The protagonist has become a broken man and cannot ever resume a normal life. A tragic movie in the end.
