So sad and so beautiful...
24 September 2022
1960s, Brazil. Through the eyes of Nando, a 12-year-old boy, we follow the trajectory of Antônio, a dreamy idealist. The desire for social mobility leads the whole family to move to the newly opened and still under construction city of Brasília. Moved by the political movements of the time and by the reforms promised by President João Goulart, Antônio approached political activism and the workers' struggle. In April 1964, overnight, dreams turn into nightmares.

What a cute movie, people, completely in love, based on the biography of Luiz Fernando Emediato (Nando)... Delicate, simple, sincere, sensitive, rich in details, a gem... I didn't even live in the 60's, but the soundtrack, the photography, the images, the library books, the cars, the Beetle, everything reminded me of my nostalgic past, of my father, a sweet nostalgia... So sad and so beautiful, the damn dictatorship, but it didn't destroy dreams, I wanted information about characters.
