From Power Rangers to talking animals, this is a different kind of Saban movie.

Haim Saban is normally known for his adaptation of Toei's Super Sentai, the Power Rangers. However, for a change, he goes towards the animals with this direct-to-video movie directed and co-produced with his long-time partner Shuki Levy.

"Rusty: A Dog's Tale", or better known as "Rusty: The Great Rescue", is a family movie that resolves around a beagle named Rusty trying to save his owner's farm and his puppies from Bart and Bertha, the cousins of the main human protagonists Jory and Tess.

However, despite it being released likely to coincide with other dog/talking animal movies like Air Bud and its sequel World Pup, Rusty still makes sure to not completely feel uninspired. It's nothing like other Saban properties, but works for what it is.
