Why? Because they're saying "Yea we could've done everything you asked for, but you only get this bit, because F you, we know better". The animated 25 minutes were the only ones that evoked feelings/atmosphere close to the comic, 25 minutes out of 700 or so. The Calliope part was well done, I enjoyed that too. I'm not entirely sold on Tom Sturridge, but eh, he gets the job done. Thing is, I'm pretty sure no actor could ever come close to the actual comic version, because Dream is not supposed to be human. He's not supposed to look or act like a human. And every time I see this version of him, all I can think of is... Billie Joe Armstrong. Or some My Chemical Romance version of him.
