CAT BURGERS HOT OFF THE GRIDDLE!
15 August 2022
The story goes that Newmar's own brother, who was attending Harvard at the time, insisted she accept the role of the Catwoman when it was offered to her, because he said all his classmates were addicted to BATMAN.

The rest is history.

Julie Newmar is the WHOLE show here as the Catwoman goes on a wild robbery spree, and lovin' it! Best of the best has her capturing Batman and Robin and roasting them alive(?) on a building roof with giant magnifying glasses.

Now that's original!

Series writer Stanley Ralph Ross was at his fiendishly creative. Ross wrote 27 classic episodes for the show, and probably had a blast doing it. Ross also turned up in some bit roles in the series and was a popular cartoon voice actor. He later became a minister and, in fact, married Burt Ward to his present wife!

Another real campy episode, Julie Newmar making the most of her role, and with some good one liners tossed in. That was the thing about BATMAN. Aside from the BIFFS, POWS and BAMS, an episode would not be classic without that witty dialogue all us big kids loved.

Look for MAVERICK star Jack Kelly as Jack O'Shea.

Jack was a man of action in tv westerns, later the mayor of Huntington Beach, California. This had to be a gag appearance for his fans.

The restored color of these episodes is excellent and you have to give the production crew credit for desiging some out of sight sets that are truly a work of art. The color enhances everything.

Never miss an episode with Julie Newmar. SEASON 2 EPISODE 3 remastered dvd box set.
