Review of The House

The House (III) (2022)
5/10
A fantastic artpiece but at the same time a confusing mess

Warning: Spoilers
The movie's divided into 3 sections

the first section is pretty good.

I love the tension it sets up and everything made sense for the most part.

But after that the movie no longer gives you anymore to work with.

Why is society full of furrys now?

Why is the gay rat harassing his dentist?

Why is there a cult of rat bugs?

Why is the world flooding?

Why is the house a boat?

I watched an "analysis" video on this movie and it kept on saying things like "I think this means" and "this probably means"

and even after all that logic stretching at the end of the video all he really said was a man sold his house to the devil and the curse was lifted in the end.

That's it?

What's the point in having so much foreshadowing, metaphorical imagery, and unclear direction if THATS the story you wanted to tell!?

I'm perfectly fine with movies leaving some things up to your imagination.

Hell sometimes that makes the atmosphere that much better.

But this movie leaves literally everything up to your imagination so at that point why not just go to sleep and have a dream.

As i said this movie is best viewed as an artpiece then a "movie" because the atmisphere, music, and especially the animation are all great.

It just falls apart if you're a part of the context fan community.
