Skynet (2021)
6/10
Lol whoa, that's so mean I felt compelled to try and defend the director a little and write another viewpoint!

Uh yeah so this is not the best example of Chris Notarile's short film directing talents, the acting a little bit stilted and hokey and it has a very cheap feel, but it does have an interesting concept, having Skynet itself take a physical form to try and correct the timeline for the better once and for all, and it was pretty neat having the same actor who silently played John Connor in the awesome opening scene from Terminator 2, even though he's definitely not a very good actor.. Anyway so this short isn't the best work from Notarile, but he's still one of the most incredibly talented short film directors I've ever seen and he has created some phenomenal short films about famous horror movie characters and pop culture comic and even some cartoon characters and to me his short films have always felt if nothing else earnest and very fun and always like a decent representation that's faithful to the movie world that they're trying to represent and that includes this one, it's just only a shame he's never got to direct a full length Elm Street movie with a big budget, because I can guarantee it would be ten times as better than the Elm Street remake that we did get and are all still trying to forget the stink of! So don't listen to that negative Nelly, and please don't judge the director's entire work on this one very average short, just check out any of his Nightmare On Elm Street stories to see how talented he really is, he managed to find a guy who plays Freddy as well as Robert Englund! 🌻
