Better Call Saul: Fun and Games (2022)
Season 6, Episode 9
10/10
The End of an Era
19 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
From an article I read, this was apparently the episode where Bob had his heart attack, and I'm assuming it was the last scene with Kim when it occurred. The performance him and Rhea put on was stellar. The cinematography amazing as usual. The camera following Kim and the final shot of Jimmy McGill were so powerful. There were also scenes that were Breaking Bad esc to me. Kim kissing Jimmy and driving away, then Walt and Jessie having their final nod to one another, then Jessie driving away. Although they are very different moments, that's what I thought of immediately. Then there's Jimmy's last plea to Kim that somewhat reminded me of Walt returning home in Ozymandias. Walt pleading for Skylar to leave with him and Jimmy pleading with Kim to stay with him are both very close together even though both were very different in their perspective moments. Kim's last line to Jimmy was hard to listen to. We knew how much she was going through with Howard, but whenever the line, "I was having too much fun" came out, it was heartbreaking. This episode was the death of Jimmy McGill for me. I thought it was the end of season 4, but Kim was the final piece to the puzzle for Saul Goodman's full transformation, and we finally got it. Now, all we have left is Saul, and soon to be Gene Tacovic.

Final Episode Rating - 9.6.
