. . . Lina R-o-m-a-y film. Some entities, such as this site, consider Lina an obscure, forgotten figure in this Our Modern 21st Century. This page's spell-checker doesn't even accept Lina's surname, while having no problem with such obscure handles as Grable, Bogart, Cagney, Derek, Bergman, Pickford, Fairbanks, Astor, Pitt or Redford. In SENOR DROOPY, Lina plays the magazine cover girl who's every matador's dream gal. This picture concludes with a cartoon dog sitting on live-action Lina's lap. Lina doesn't flinch or break character, as she bestows upon "Droopy" the mutt all the respect he deserves. I also liked Lina in STAGE DOOR CANTEEN, but her performance is more genuine in SENOR DROOPY.

P. S.--THIS Lina must NOT be confused with the later blue movie deviant born Rosa Maria Martinez five years AFTER this Droopy film, who grew up to steal someone else's name because she could not own up to all of the ribald outrages committed during her scores of outrageous assaults against proper lady-like decorum.
