6/10

Warning: Spoilers
Sarah lives on an organic farmer with her father and her son when a man claiming to be Rip Van Winkle the II from 1787. Polite and kind, Sarah assumes he is a soldier home with PTSD and allows him to live and work on her farm. These two slowly develop feelings for each other as they share stories from their times. Sarah finds a doctor specializing in the treatment of PTSD in soldiers and takes Rip to New York to see them, to discover there is a musket ball lodged in his leg...enter a quantum physicist who explains maybe it is possible that he is from 1787?

Meanwhile the sheriff is jealous and Rip and Sarah seem to be falling in love.

"I have tried to behave in only the most honorable of manner."-Rip

This was an interesting story for Hallmark.

"I think I have something to offer that men of this time have long forgotten."-Rip.

The farmhouse was lovely as was the backdrop. There were very few characters besides the tight knit family unit consisting of Sarah, her father and her son...all of who enjoyed and benefited from Rip's company.

(I love the romantic idea that he gets a chance to talk to his father through his journal.) Was this time travel romance flawed...absolutely, but if you can suspend your beliefs and aren't hyper critical AND are a romantic, you might enjoy this story.

"And thus I will depart much as I arrived with no fanfare or warning."-Rip.
