Ashita no Nadja (2002–2004)
9/10
From the director of my personal favourite of the original five Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon seasons (Sailor Stars) a classic of anime shojos

That I sincerely don't understand why it's not talked more about in elitist anime circles. Everything clicks: the chara design, the seiyuu performances (especially the debuting Ami Koshimizu in the skirt of the titular character), the unadulterated shojo adherence, the animation, the bishoujo senshi sailor moon fanservice that would melt the heart of every fan of the 90's animated masterpiece or self-professed moonie, the awesome intro and the outro, the Versailles No Bara references, the absurd detail put in the overall, cinematic-quality direction...a true classic of the genre in any possible way that no anime elitist can let pass without notice. Absolute kudos to Takuya Igarashi for this series, he should deserve more accolade than he actually receives by Otakus at large.
