Like in the first miniseries( 1977) , Arsene Lupin won't come to the damsel in distress' s rescue ; it would have been ludicrous anyway .
It does not make the last episode interesting for all that: the stakes are too unsubstantial and this denouement is not satisfying : Leblanc's criminal was a megalomaniac who wanted to rule the world , a power which would be given to him by a miraculous stone ( a scientific explanation was given ,do not forget the book was written at Curie's and Becquerel's time ,both mentioned by the writer) : hence ,some opportunities as "the flowers that grow so incredibly high" are missed; on the other hand ,instead of one family duel , one is granted two !
Le Doyen and Berling are the right actors in a wrong miniseries.
