Well, it isn't just because both films star Ben Affleck. Both movies wallow in the darker, deeply unpleasant side of human nature and the effects of obsessive love. Both films are populated by thoroughly dislikeable characters who you wouldn't want anything to do with in real life. Both movies end with...well, that would be telling, wouldn't it?
