Warning: Spoilers
This film seems like it was made by a very competent high school student who had a bit of money given to him by his Mom, but was told, "You can't get anything dirty, so no fake blood, you can't mess up anyone's hair too much, can't ruin anyone's clothes, and can't damage any props or set pieces". It has as a plot point a "Scarecrow Festival" that is about to happen, so, y'know, the mayor is concerned about 6,000 people that are about to have their festivities threatened, but it becomes obvious that this is included only because the town where filming took place was already setting up for some carnival and it's just used as a backdrop, with no real connection to anything else in the movie. The acting is competent, although nothing much was really demanded of the actors. Many low-budget horror movies have worked without a lot of gore, nudity, or sfx, but they have creative cinematography, tension, clever writing. This film has none of that. Many scenes are shot in extreme low-level light to try to mask the fact that nothing is actually happening. People move off-screen and then scream for a few seconds. That's the extent of the killings, if that's what actually happened; it's hard to tell. And the ending... just insulting.
