As most other reviewers have written, this contradicts an early eposide about Homer's mother. It was a classic, too, which makes it even worse to go against it now. The Simpsons has been going too long. If it's got to the point they're going to start breaking canon and rectonning it, it's time to throw in the towel. One episode contradicting a previous one unravels the whole story. Sad.
