Review of Travessia

Travessia (2015)

Chico Diaz is awesome but the film had the chance to be much better than it was
23 February 2022
A film bout the problematic (lack of) relationship between father and son. Indeed, very little is explained, including the origin of that lack of dialogue. The movie begins strong, but afterwards becomes a little sluggish, until something more important happens again only in the end. While the father is played by great actor Chico Diaz, the son has a very tepid and characterless one by Caio Castro. Both characters have lives going downhill: the father drinks a lot and seeks prostitutes, the son sells drugs. A public hospital and dark streets of Salvador are the places where plot twists are held.
