All Out Of Love
13 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Super close half-siblings Jiang Sheng (Sun Yi) and Liang Sheng (Ma Tianyu) grow up in poverty but happy in each other's company with their dad and her mom in the village of Weijiaping. Through good academic records and Liang Sheng's hard work, they are able to attend university. Jiang Sheng meets company president Cheng Tianyu (Wallace Chung) while Liang Sheng gets involved with classmate Ning Weiyang (Meng Ziyi). Tianyu appreciates the close relationship between the half-siblings while Weiyang feels jealous of it, especially when the true state of their blood relationship is revealed.

This drama suffers from flaws that plague many Chinese dramas - long (70 episodes), draggy scenes, repetitive flashbacks, too many side stories and choppy writing/direction/editing. If not for Wallace Chung's earnest performance that does not fail to draw me in, I would probably have dropped this. But I'm glad I did not. This tale about deep, if not obsessive, love is riveting, laden with heart-wrenching and delightful moments. This somewhat reminds me of Wuthering Heights, though here, the female lead's boyfriend, Tianyu, has backbone and does not give up on her.
