We finally saw this movie which Amazon posted not long ago my time as I write this.
The tell that this movie should be considered fantasy is near the top when the narrator allows that the ship is sailing WEST (from America to Jolly Ol). Went back and watched that again. Yes, west. It is incomprehensible to me that somebody to do with the making of the movie didn't catch that. From that point on it was obvious that far from being an attempt at an accurate historical drama it was simply another hit job, specifically to urinate on the memory of Winston Churchill. A hit job by amateurs with an agenda.
MUCH in the movie is the fiction of the writer's own brains. If the intent had been to do as good of a job as possible there was plenty of accurate historical material to work with, much more than enough to present an interesting and accurate protrayl. Could have been a great movie. As it was, it was done very well..for fiction.
