Road Trip, Euro Trip, Not Another Teen Movies - all great comedies that allegedly came out to ride the success of this one.
Not sure why this one was successful since it's not really that great or funny, but in 1999 - who knows - it probably was, actually.
The newer American Pie movies, especially the last one - "girls rules" or something generic and totally predictable for the 2020s - absolutely sucked. So I figured maybe the OG was the great one and I finally watched it in 2021.
Well, it's all about generic, "feminist" annoying girls, generic super horny and bland boys - it's absolutely nothing special, especially nowadays when at least half of that definitely hasn't changed whatsoever.
So sadly, it's not a movie that holds up in 2021. And that's in a time of terrible, garbage movies... But again, maybe it was good in 1999 and I just missed it. So to be fair - 4 stars.
