Another overrated David O. Russell movie. Currently sitting at 92% approval on a certain aggregate website (you know which one) and it's rated fairly highly here as well.
The story is rather uninteresting and presented in such unengaging way that even the cast can't save it. The only good performance here is by Jeremy Renner.. Everyone else is either mediocre (Bale, Adams, Cooper) or atrocious (Lawrence). Jennifer Lawrence is terribly miscast, completely unconvincing as the middle-aged housewife. A role more suitable for an actress twice her age.
The real hustle seems to be pulled on us by the film critics who claim this is a good movie.
