Can spoiled upper middle class white suburbanites really all be this obnoxious and unlikable? All the people you avoided in high school, at parties, and at clubs, packed into obnoxious unfunny films.
This film really has a high ratio of punchable faces. Obnoxious jock and bully, obnoxious homely brat who thinks he's a lady's man, obnoxious idiots with permanent vacuous looks on their faces.
That's the whole cast except for the females. And they are there to be pieces of meat, harassed by one idiot after another who needs their faces slapped and in a just world would be lifelong virgins.
And why is this cast so white? As in all white. As in all white for every single one of these films? Was every single person, the screenwriter, director, every studio head who greenlighted this, all raised in all white schools and neighborhoods?
They haven't been to today's suburbs. Plenty of kids of every background. Even earlier (and funnier) teen comedies like Porky's and Fast Times at Ridgemont High were not this all white. The Porky's series even took place in the 50s and they had Jewish and Native teens as main characters.
How sad it is that teen comedies became so bad.
