For those wondering why NCIS Los Angeles showed up on episodes of NCIS; simply put this was the PILOT EPISODES for the new series.
When the Original NCIS Series appeared (the one you're currently watching with Gibbs-Tony-etc) the NCIS Series first appeared on the show JAG!
During JAG Season 8 - Episodes 20 & 21 are the Pilot Episodes for NCIS. JAG ended after season 10 I believe.
Now you have both NCIS and NCIS Los Angeles that continue to air even in 2021!
NCIS Season 7 is the start of the Series Premier of NCIS Los Angeles! They are currently on NCIS Season 19 and NCIS LA Season 13.
*Sidenote NCIS New Orleans came and went after several seasons. Don't bother watching it - it's beyond awful!*
*The Fall of 2021 will premier NCIS Hawaii Season 1*
When you begin watching NCIS Los Angeles - Specifically Season 2/3 - you'll see a Cross-Over Episode with the CBS Show HAWAII FIVE-0!
Expect if Covid lets up you'll see cast members from both NCIS & NCIS LA to show up on the new series of NCIS HAWAII to help boost viewership.
