Taking care of the trash
17 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Renko (an amusing Charles Haid) and Hill (an excellent Michael Warren) run afoul of a recently deceased drug kingpin and his flunkies while doing garbage duty during a strike. Hunter (a fine James Sikking) must deal with his nemesis Ballantine (a hilarious turn by Gary Miller) when he's called back to EAT duty.

It's great to see Hunter back in action on the streets and the guy really does his best to reason with the clearly unhinged Ballantine. Hill blows his cool and dumps trash on the hearse of the dead drug dealer, which begets possible recriminations from a displeased Furillo (the always terrific Daniel J. Travanti) and surprise support from Chief Daniels (a deliciously smarmy Jon Cypher). In addition, Buntz (the fantastic Dennis Franz) makes a crude proposal to Davenport (solid Veronica Hamel), Sid the Snitch (a nicely slimy Peter Jurasik) gets deputized as a drug tester with disastrous results, and Russo (foxy Megan Gallagher) and Flaherty (likeable Robert Clohessy) hook up. Moses Gunn contributes a strong guest turn as tough take-charge old guy Sloan.
