In "Alice' Balloon Race", Alice is a mostly passive member of a team while her pal, Julius (a Felix the Cat knockoff) does most of the work and manages to help them win the balloon race.
When the story begins, several teams with balloons and blimps begin a race. The nasty character (sort of like an early wolf-like version of Pete) sabotages various balloons...including Alice and Julius'. Julius uses a variety of tricks to get their blimp aloft as well as combats the storm.
This is a fast-paced and cute film. Not among Alice's very best but still one of the better shorts due to a few clever gags.
