Edgar Hoover to produce the film without interference, arguing the Bureau was fair game for fictionalization. The film was originally titled FBI vs Scotland Yard but this was changed at the request of J. Edgar Hoover.
This is an interesting film noir, I very much enjoyed the Documentary flavor , narrated by Reed Hadley's credible narration voice . On-the-site filming of locales adds authenticity. George Bruce has loaded his script with nifty twists that add air of reality to the melodramatic goings on in the story. "Walked a Crooked Mile" is a engaging 40's spy , espionage film and worth seeking out.
