Opening scene was charming with the cute background music. And it got interesting quick, but then...it got a bit boring as we were introduced to the characters. The Goldilocks, lost daughter, bit was compelling and should have been the main theme throughout, instead of the fishing, fitness, and lake monster elements. The lake and trees were pretty, the ex-detective was clearly the bad guy from the start, but still very well acted. The Jade character was cute and funny there at the end. She would make a nice addition to the regular cast. Some 4th wall bit about John retiring, but lets see...
