I thought the plot was a charming caper to generate tourism as well as an old familiar way to show things are never as they appear. It was about time Barney married Thelma Lou, but did they really expect us to believe they will start a family at their age? Actually, I expected to see the town filled with children and grandchildren from the old characters. I thought it would've been great to see a " mini" Gomer Pile or Goober or even a mini mischievous Earnest T. Bass. I think there was a huge missed opportunity for comedy there. Maybe, its not too late life does go on and mannerisms are inherited.
