I loved it. The throwbacks were great and the song was great too. I also liked that there was an actual explanation for the absence of the other colored Marios recently.
And in the end, there's still a lot of questions unanswered. Perhaps there's another arc coming, or maybe even another movie to explain what the hell is going on with SMG0 and where the SMGs came from.
