Being a fan of scrubs ever since I was a teenager, I was extremely excited to discover this podcast. I've watched the entire series of scrubs, even the dumpster fire that was nine, more times than I am even aware of. It's a very integral part of my childhood, and it holds a very special place in my heart. Once I started listening to this podcast, I was immediately hooked. However, there are a few glaring issues that need to be addressed, and no one seems to be really talking about it.
The pros are pretty much what you would expect, and then some. You can immediately tell that Zack and Donald have a very similar relationship as JD and Turk. Their chemistry is undeniable, and it's even infectious. They also routinely have other stars from the show, and it's very interesting to get a glimpse of what these actors are like in their personal lives as well as being able to hear a lot of behind-the-scenes trivia that many people wouldn't know otherwise. Listening to all these people talk while thinking about the characters that they played gives me more clarity on their acting process and makes me appreciate not only the actors, but the characters in the show that much more.
Now let's get to the cons. There is a big difference between having different points of view on the world and existing inside of your own bubble and labeling anyone who is outside of that bubble as less than. Every single person that has come on or worked on this podcast is extremely left leaning. If that is your cup of tea, great. It's personally not mine, but I'm always willing to hear different perspectives. However, what I cannot stand is virtue signaling, and this podcast has plenty of it. It started off subtle, but has only seemed to increase overtime. One of the members of the podcast crew is even credited as being the most knowledgeable in terms of social and political issues, and then proceeds to deliver very misleading information that is over simplified and at times just incorrect, and then everyone just parrots the same options back and forth. This is also very often packaged with what appears to be a large amount of distain or even disgust towards anyone who doesn't share the same believes that they do. I really don't think it's a good idea to alienate such a large group of people that could be listening to your podcast, or even be big fans of the show, myself included. Everyone has a right to believe whatever they want, and say whatever they want, but it would be nice if we could go one episode without someone going on a tangent about something that they clearly don't fully understand. Listeners tune in to hear about the source material, not to be pandered two or openly vilified, depending on your political affiliation.
