Brilliant episode, and tied with Chapter 5 as my favourites of Season 1.

This series is experimental in nature, and Chapter 6 is no different. I understand this episode frustrates some people because it - quite literally - pauses the story, just when we were starting to get answers. Face it, guys, it was never going to be that easy.

I've also read comments about how this episode is pointless because nothing technically happens. To be fair, the same could be said about some of the earlier chapters. In Chapters 2 and 3, we slowly learn more about David and his condition, while very little is actually happening in the real world. This series is not about action. It is psychological. Nearly half of the characters in this show are PSYCHIC. The fact that there is a dream episode in this show should not shock people.

Plus we do learn some things here. We get some more insight into the parasite, its motivations, and its connection to David. Aubrey Plaza really shines in these moments. I know that sympathetic villains are really popular right now, but I just love it when a villain is evil and twisted. This episode has one of the best evil villain scenes in any movie or TV show, and it's literally just two actors in a room talking to each other.

As far as I'm concerned, this episode is Legion at its best. It's creepy. It's mysterious. It's atmospheric. This show is so well-written, and this episode gives the actors time and room to just perform and work off of each other. Chapter 6 ends on an awesome cliff hanger, which leaves you wondering how on earth our main characters are going to overcome this adversary.

9/10 - Amazing.
