Waste of fantastic locale and camera work

Warning: Spoilers
I really wanted to like this movie and I was very drawn in by the initial plot and set up.

But as it progresses, the plot is really weak. The characters make so many stupid mistakes and decisions that I started to loathe them. They act like complete idiots 80% of the time, and then once in awhile have these deep conversations that you're supposed to take seriously, even when they just did something like pour a bunch of water into the sand in the middle of the Sahara Desert.

By the third time some miraculous person or group appeared over the horizon to save them from their own stupidity, I was completely done. Not to mention they still get someone killed and it seems to only faze them for a few hours before they are on to the next whatever. There's really a lack of respect for the Sahara Desert, north/west Africa itself, or for taking this kind of a road trip.

Not to mention the ending was really weak as well, completely implausible, and rushed in like 9 minutes after the rest the of the movie was so drawn out.

I feel sorry for the actors involved, they do seem to be talented but they were given very little to work with.
