The show starts off VERY cringe-worthy with the character set-up, especially with the parents.
But if you can make it past the first 15 minutes or so, you might like the show. But those first 10-15 minutes are very rough.
Then Bombay shows up, and it gets better. The new kid on the ice. Hot chocolate bar. The Wall. The greatest love of all.
I remember seeing the original movie in theaters countless times as a kid, so it's hard for me not to compare what I felt then compared to today.
So if you're on the fence, give it a shot.
