Review of Crime Wave

Crime Wave (1985)
5/10
not anyone's best work

John Paizs stars in this story of director Steve Penny, who will make the best crime film ever. His first crime is the story of rock and roll legend Ronny Boyles. Narration by Eva Kovacs. It moves so slowly! Ironically, they even have crickets playing as the streetlights slowly come on. Seems to be a parody on film making. So many stills of street lights. And so much handshaking. Also written and directed by John Paizs.... which is the problem. It's a home baked cult film. Which never found a cult following. Filmed in winnipeg. Showing on roku channel. Torture ! It 's silly, like a john waters film, without the dry humor. Toast with no buttah! We want to stop watching, but we continue on, to see if it will get better. But it doesn't. Not so good.
