I have been a very avid follower of this serial. Have watched al 4 of the past ones and enjoyed everyone of them. From selection of cast that suited the characters perfectly. However this time around the director made a a blunder in selecting Kelly McDonald in such a critical role. I first saw her in State of Play. The series was great but she was absolutely horrible and thoroughly unconvincing.
I have travelled far and wide within UK & other English speaking countries. Have never EVER come across a single person with this kind of NATURAL accent and style, It is totally a put on. It turned me off then and it is really making me sick this time around. It is so artificial and unnatural !! Just for that BOGUS put on accent I am quite likely to give this season a pass. How dumb can one be to make such stupid choice ??? One think is definite. In Future if she is in the cast I WILL 100 % give it a pass.
