The charm free Phyllis McGuire (no relation to the singer), Bernice's niece, shows up, determined to have her declared incompetent so she can take over her finances. She's already scheduled a competency hearing, and the women decide to testify on her behalf. has Julia says, "This is the south. We never hide our crazy people. People never ask you if you have crazy people in your family. They just ask which side."
There's only a little bit of Suzanne in this episode, and when she finally shows up, she's completely covered, having a major sunburn from her trip to Greece and banging on her ear, looking absolutely loony. Bernice breaks into the bubbly, repeats "Yo!" over and over, and shows an interest in a piano a Sugarbaker client decided not to buy. Lots of funny moments, especially with judge G.D. Spradlin in charge of the case. Ghostley really deserved an Emmy for this episode, and for the fourth season in general.
