Writers totally ignored the firearms laws when wring this, I assume to drive their plot easier. Walker, Trivett, and the DA throughout the episode are trying to find some way to take down the cult leader, when, at the end of the episode, they show that not only do the cult leader's henchmen have automatic weapons, but the watch tower at the main gate has a mounted 50 caliber machine gun. Either of which would be grounds to not only search the premises of the cult compound,but enough to arrest them all, especially after they find that the cult leader has a long rap sheet,
