Apparently, this is based on a real life ad in the papers that spoke of a recruitment drive by the Delhi Municipal Corporation to hire people who would dress up as Langurs to scare the monkeys away after using real Langurs was no longer permitted to do this job.
The story is also commentary on a poor education system; on class divide; on privilege - to choose what you wanna do in life vs doing anything because it's a job; on 'if it's a problem to you, it's a problem but you can change your mind because of your religious beliefs'; etc.
Online, folks claim that this is like Parasite from Bollywood, the movie that The White Tiger should have been. They say it's a breath of fresh air when all people do are remakes and masala movies. Now if it's all that, I'll leave that to your judgment but it's surely very different. Also, there are so many monkeys in the movie, I wonder how much work it would have been to film the perfect reactions every single time, LOL.
