1960's musical gem starring Cliff the quiff
8 February 2021
Cliff "the quiff" Richards stars in this classic 1960's musical, and with his entourage (including Una Stubbs, and Melvyn Hays)travel around Europe in a bus, singing and hip-shaking, and getting into light-hearted scrapes. It's fun movie, the kind that can cheer up the most miserable sod. Cliff cuts a charismatic and positive figure. Actually most of his entourage are fun and happy. It's a feel good factor film that reminds me of the times that I watched it with my siblings, getting lost in its escapism. Matching the great scenery are the brilliant songs, especially the ballad "the last time." Some say it's dated, but the clue is in the year it's made. Actually it's an infectious fun film that can transcend any 'dated' label.
