One Night Stand (I) (2016)
6/10
Poor ending

Warning: Spoilers
Jasmine Moses-D'Souza's direction is good as she is able to handle the film smoothly for the most part. The first half is all romantic and we get to more about the characters. The main issue with the film is the second half, it drags and seems to lack direction. Urvil is obsessed with "Celina" that is clear, even though it's quite far-fetched for a guy who has everything; beautiful loving wife, a great job, good friends and all, he has everything a man could dream of at that age, but he still wants to sabotage that. The film also fails to set up a good conflict, he starts stalking Celina only because she accused him of doing it? And that could have been great, but the whole stalking thing lacks thrills. Had the film added a few thrill elements while addressing the stalking scenes, it definitely would have worked in the film's favour and would have taken the film to a whole different level. The ending is extremely underwhelming and uneventful. The resolution of the conflict i's too easy. She's going to tell her husband that's it? Credits roll? It was expecting a fight or something in the desert scene.

Performances are good in some parts, Tanuj Virwani owns the role in the lead, he's good though not great as he struggles in some parts. Sunny Leone? she's Ok tho she's having a hard time when it comes to delivering lines. Nyra Banerjee as Urvil's wife is actually the better performer in the cast, she's quite natural. The rest of cast are ok. The film is visually stunning thanks to the slick cinematography. The background score complements the movie amazingly well.

All in all, One Night Stand has an interesting plot and concept, but fails to expand it into an engaging narrative.
